Google’s New Privacy Policy – Unleashed

The much controversial new Privacy Policy, which Google has been planning to put into effect, has been finally implemented on March 1, 2012.

For quite a while now, Google has been alerting users regarding these changes in its policy.

As Google explains:
“The main change is for users with Google Accounts. Our new Privacy Policy makes clear that, if you’re signed in, we may combine information you've provided from one service with information from other services.

In short, we’ll treat you as a single user across all our products, which will mean a simpler, more intuitive Google experience.” (Source : Searchenginewatch)

In-spite of several protests (Google's New Privacy Policy under heavy fire and Google vs State Attorneys : The New Policy is here to stay), Google has made sure that its new changes have seen the light of day.

On a simple note, Google is planning to use user-data gathered across all its various services (Gmail, Product Listings, Youtube, Analytics, etc.) to create a more relevant browsing experience for users as well as to help advertisers in marketing their products. Though this would be a new step in targeting display Ads, many people feel that Google is forcibly imposing these changes upon them, thereby threatening their privacy in the digital world.
