ComScore Networks, pioneer in internet market research firm, had recently conducted a study on blogs, which is now becoming one of the popular ways of marketing the merchandise for web merchants and online retailers. In other words blogs are called as a viral “word – of – mouth marketing”.
Key Results of the Study
-Shoppers who visit blogs on a particular site spend 6% more time than an average online shopper.
-Most of these online shoppers are young, online savvy and access the internet through broadband connections.
-Targets not only to blog readers but also other bloggers who use their own blogs and spread the message on behalf of online retailers.
-Blogs “Content Centric” help online retailers in area of improving their organic search results on top notch search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN.
-Most online retailers have started testing the blogs as marketing channel, which will give unique identity and their customers a reason to visit their stores, even though they are not thinking of buying.
